Trip to Old Rectory garden Sudborough

Twenty four members  and friends went on a private visit to the gardens. They were welcomed and given an introductory talk by the owner, and afterwords were left free to roam and admire the beautiful climbingg roses  and herbaceous borders. The visit was completed by tea and cake. Many members were busy the following day planting the plants that they bought to enjoy at home throughout the summer.

July 2017

Handover night.

A memorable occasion at the beginning of our IW year is always our Handover night when this year President Wendy handed over to our new President  Sheiila

Sheila  was welcomed by Rotarian President David Lawrence who said that he hoped both clubs would continue to work together.  Both David and Sheila have been Presidents before , so were feeling a little more  confident in their new roles than they did  first time round!!.

July 2017

We held our annual tea party in one of our Members gardens. The weather was very kind to us maybe a little too hot for some - particularly those in the kitchen.

We all enjoyed scones with lashings of jam and cream followed by cakes, which were all baked by our members. (The diets started the next day!!. ) We were very grateful to our friends from other Clubs who supported us by spending money at our' Bring and Buy stall and plant stall ' and raising a good amount for our International fund. Many thanks to Jean Callaghan District Chairman for attending.

So far , and this is amazing we have managed to win all of our games of skittles . We are really enjoying ourselves and have got to know some lovely members from the other clubs who have allowed us to win - thank you.

December 2017

We had a very enjoyable Christmas meal followed by 'The sock game' (remember this from the Conference ) where members had a great time finding objects to put in their socks, which provided some great challenges on the night. We were then treated to a selection of carols from other countries, and  Christmas readings

A Wonderful start to our Christmas celebrations.

Time to give some of that money that we raised away.Half of the money raised over the past year was handed over to Crazy Hats ( A local organization supporting Breast Cancer Care).
