A Team effort by the Oadby Club

Ann Steventon ISO of the Oadby Club has sent these photos of the blankets knitted by the  Club which are going to the refugee camp in Syria ( hopefully!) They have certainly been busy and the labels "Given with love by Inner Wheel" look great too.

Well done ladies.

Touching NHS Lives...

The ladies of Lutterworth Wycliffe have been busy making items for nurses during the crisis. One member made hats for her daughter who was suitably pleased with her efforts. Headbands, masks and scrubs bags are a few of the items made. Keep up the good work.

Inner Wheel members doing their bit to help against Covid-19

Members of the Lutterworth Club have been busy making scrub bags  for nurses at the Leicester General Hospital. These are so that dirty uniforms or scrubs can be put into the bags and then washed without having to handle the uniforms again to put into the washing machine. Well done ladies.

Touching Lives

Following Government advice re Covid 19 many Clubs have been suspended temporarily.

However, this does not mean we are unable to fulfill our role as members of Inner Wheel and we are able to continue “Touching Lives” if only in a virtual  or socially distanced way!

Many members have set up or are involved in local initiatives  to reach out to those in need which is fantastic.

If you find yourself at a loose end during this difficult situation lets utilise the time to the benefit of others, have a good sort through those over flowing drawers of “stuff” and gather all those bits and bobs that we collect in order to help others:

Old watches for Teenage Cancer - Parkinson’s UK

Mobile phones  - Parkinson’s UK and Helipads of Hospitals

Jewellery, foreign currency - Parkinson’s UK

Aluminium cans - Helipads for Hospitals

Stamps – Children United, Parkinson’s  & Intercare

Computer cables - Helipads for Hospitals

Crisp Packets - Gain

Drinks Can Ring Pulls - Purple Community Fund

Other Items to collect : Bras

The most important thing we can do is to “Keep in Touch” - a phone call, video call WhatsApp or  Facetime to one’s friends is great and particularly to someone who lives alone, this could be the only human contact they have.

Keep up the Good Work.

Belfast Conference Cancelled Due to Coronavirus

Message from Association President Enid

It is with much sadness and deep regret that we acknowledge that it is now impossible for us to go ahead with our Annual Conference in Belfast in April 2020.

The health and welfare of our members is paramount.   In light of the demographic of our membership and yesterday’s Statement made by the Government, we sincerely regret that the conference in Belfast is now cancelled.     The ICC Belfast have now also taken steps to close their venue completely.
