Handover with a difference - Spalding

On Friday morning, 26th June, we held a very small handover of the chain of office at Pam Clay’s house.  Six of us attended (in line with Government rules!) and although thunderstorms were forecast it was a beautifully sunny morning and it was so nice to actually see and speak to one another.  President Marina brought some sandwiches and Pam made a cake.  Below are some photographs of the morning.

District Exec have their final meeting ..socially distanced of course

The District Exec had their final meeting last week not quite what any of them had expected to be doing at this time. Suzanne will hand over to new District Chairman Pauline Start on July 1st as would normally happen. Many other Districts will be keeping the same executive committee but as we had already held our AGM prior to lockdown  it was decided to continue with the new committee. MOC Janet Barwood will leave the Exec this year being replaced by Barbara Rogers. Carolyn Duncan is  making a reappearance  as the District secretary as Shirley moves  into the to 1st Vice DC role.

A Team effort by the Oadby Club

Ann Steventon ISO of the Oadby Club has sent these photos of the blankets knitted by the  Club which are going to the refugee camp in Syria ( hopefully!) They have certainly been busy and the labels "Given with love by Inner Wheel" look great too.

Well done ladies.

Touching NHS Lives...

The ladies of Lutterworth Wycliffe have been busy making items for nurses during the crisis. One member made hats for her daughter who was suitably pleased with her efforts. Headbands, masks and scrubs bags are a few of the items made. Keep up the good work.

Inner Wheel members doing their bit to help against Covid-19

Members of the Lutterworth Club have been busy making scrub bags  for nurses at the Leicester General Hospital. These are so that dirty uniforms or scrubs can be put into the bags and then washed without having to handle the uniforms again to put into the washing machine. Well done ladies.
